Aflatoxigenic potential of Aspergillus section Flavi isolated from maize seeds, in Burkina Faso

چکیده

The frequency of occurrence and four principal kinds aflatoxin concentration in maize seeds grown Burkina Faso was investigated. Ten (10) samples collected, were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with post-column derivatisation after immunoaffinity column cleanup. Eight strains Aspergillus section Flavi previously isolated from these cultivated on “Aspergillus flavus parasiticus agar (AFPA)” to ascertain if they belong A. or species. qualitative ability production also performed fluorescence emission under ultra violet light at 365 nm (4) days incubation 30 °C Coconut Agar Medium (CAM). Results showed that 70% contaminated aflatoxins. levels ranged 0.93 58.94 µg/kg. Samples M1 M10 had concentrations, µg/kg 70.73 µg/kg; whereas M4 M5 low concentrations 1.68 µg/kg, respectively. In samples, B1 (AFB1) G1 (AFG1), two AFB1 B2 (AFB2) one (01) only. We notice the most prevalent member aflatoxins, AFG2 absent all samples.   Key words: Maize, Aspergillus, HPLC, Faso.

Studies on Aspergillus Section Flavi from Peanut in Iran

During 2010 and 2011, Aspergillus species from section Flavi were isolated from rhizosphere in main peanut-growing region of Iran, Astaneh-e Ashrafiyeh, Guilan Province (northern Iran). The soil samples were taken from fruiting zone of peanuts in 3 districts and 10 locations, during the pod-filling period. The populations of Aspergillus section Flavi showed significant differences in cfu g-1 am...

Distribution of Aspergillus section Flavi in soils of maize fields in three agroecological zones of Nigeria

Fungal communities in soils of Nigerian maize fields were examined to determine distributions of aflatoxin-producing fungi and to identify endemic atoxigenic strains of potential value as biological control agents for limiting aflatoxin contamination in West African crops. Over 1000 isolates belonging to Aspergillus section Flavi were collected from soil of 55 Nigerian maize fields located in t...

Aspergillus section Flavi community structure in Zambia influences aflatoxin contamination of maize and groundnut

Aflatoxins are cancer-causing, immuno-suppressive mycotoxins that frequently contaminate important staples in Zambia including maize and groundnut. Several species within Aspergillus section Flavi have been implicated as causal agents of aflatoxin contamination in Africa. However, Aspergillus populations associated with aflatoxin contamination in Zambia have not been adequately detailed. Most o...

Contamination of Stored Pistachios to Aspergillus Section Flavi and Aflatoxins

Background: Contamination of stored pistachio nuts to Aspergillus section Flavi and aflatoxins (AFs) as well as effective parameters on fungal growth and AF production during storage was assayed. Methods: Twenty one pistachio nut samples were taken from some warehouse of Damghan county. Different parameters of storage, including temperature, relative humidity, and pest infestation were recorded...

Evaluating Aflatoxin Gene Expression in Aspergillus Section Flavi.

The determination of aflatoxin production ability and differentiation of aflatoxigenic strains can be assessed by monitoring the expression of one or several key genes using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). We herein describe the methods for RNA induction, extraction, and quality determination, and the RT-PCR conditions used to evaluate the ability of a given Aspergillu...
